At-Home Sushi Omakase
Activity Planning
The clients with a 3-month-old baby wanted to try Omakase sushi. Since many upscale sushi restaurants in Japan are already exclusive and typically only have a small counter with a few seats, they do not accept younger children. Instead of booking a kid-friendly sushi restaurant, I planned a private sushi dining experience at home. I made it possible by calling and emailing on behalf of the clients to discuss dates and budgets. The family was able to spend a pleasant dinner together without the worry of travel or disrupting other guests.
Nikka Whiskey Tour
Activity Planning
The traveler had one extra day to spare in Hokkaido. Since he is a big fan of Japanese whiskey, I suggested he visit a Nikka whiskey distillery. It is located in Yoichi, about 30 minutes by train from Otaru. Because there are limited train services between Otaru and Yoichi, I made careful arrangements to book a tour based on the train schedule. After the tour, I made a reservation at a neighboring sushi restaurant (which only takes phone reservations) to experience the local cuisine.
Bike Trip to Shimanami
3-Day Activity Planning
The adventure-loving family was preparing for a journey to Shimanami Kaido, a famous cycling route that links mainland Japan (Honshu) with the Shikoku Islands.
Even though there are multiple bike rental shops in the area, not all of them have websites in English. Due to their young children, aged three and five, the family decided to drive through Shimanami Kaido instead of cycling.
I researched various bike rental companies that provided "mama-chari," electric bikes with child seats. I devised a one-day cycling plan that included rental spots to streamline the process of renting and returning their bikes. In order to ensure the trip was enjoyable for the entire family, I suggested family-friendly activities and restaurants in the vicinity.
Enoden Gourmet Tour
English-Speaking Guide
Currently I've been working with Caitlin (Her. Atlas) to develop a gourmet tour of Kamakura. During the tour, guests will have the opportunity to ride the Enoden train and discover the charming city of Kamakura while dining at cafes and restaurants operated by local residents.
